Week 5

Hi Hudson!

You are super smiley lately and I am eating it up! You love to be outside even if it's just a nap in the stroller.

We think you've have some tummy aches so we've been trying different formulas. I think we'll end up with Similac Sensitive. I was really hoping you would do well with the Sam's Club formula but you were really fussy and restless especially after you ate and seemed to be calm and relieved after you got the gas out... which was a lot! You didn't act this way with the Similac and seemed to sleep a lot better. Now we're trying the Gerber Sensitive (because I had a really good coupon). With this formula, your poop changed to darker and really. really. really stinky. You threw up tonight about 30 minutes after you ate... of course you had just had a bath and gotten fresh clothes on :).

You have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I'm excited to see your official weight and length. You will be getting some shots but we won't think about that right now.

We've been running lots of errands and staying very busy. When we are in stores, people ask how old you are. They typically respond with "Oh you're so brave". I don't really understand what people expect me to do with a one month old. I really can't sit at home all day every day. There's only so much DVR we can watch without rotting our brains. I keep you covered and protected when we go out. I do my very best to keep strangers from touching you and they still find a way. An employee at Martin's touched your ears and your feet even with Dede pushing the cart out of her reach. When I said something about her touching you, she said, "well, I just touched his ears". To which I responded with , "well he can reach his ears with his hands." We spent the rest of the shopping trip trying to stay away from her and her germy hands.

Our friends are still bringing dinners and enjoying visiting you. It's so nice to not have to think about what's for dinner. I've been trying some new recipes on nights we don't have dinner provided. I could really get used to being a stay at home mom/housewife. I go back to work in about a month. I'm really not looking forward to going back and leaving you. It's going to be really hard. Daddy and I are hoping to take you and spend a couple of days at a lake house or some kind of mini vacation the week before I go back to work.

Here are some pictures of this week... I really need to take more!
