37 Weeks!

I am due THREE weeks [21 days] [504 hours...] from today.

What an eventful week!!

Saturday, Dustin and I went to the childbirth and lactation class that the hospital offers for expectant parents. It was calming to hear what to expect and get some pointers from the pros. Afterward, our niece, Lexy, spent the night with us... she is a hoot! We shopped all over town with my Mom and Aunt Lisa... spying at what was missing off the registries making sure the registries were well stocked for last minute shoppers.

Sunday was the "Bay-bee" shower to beat all baby showers! Rachel [and the other 17 hostesses] did an outstanding job with the decorations and flow of the shower. The theme was "Mommy-to-bee". Rachel's mom has an amazing collection of honey jars and honey bee stuff. It was absolutely perfect. They used my newest color combo obsession of yellow and grey and got super creative with the details... the pictures really don't do it justice! We had such a great turn out. Hudson got a great variety of gifts fulfilling his every need.

At work today, we had a diapers and wipes shower for me and Heather (scheduled for C-section on the 22nd). We are super stocked in the diapers and wipes department. Dustin jokes that it may only last us a week :). [camera is at work... will post pictures tomorrow... we are seriously stocked for awhile!]

After work was a doctor's appointment. Quick and painless. He told me that I'll be getting an ultrasound next week to check position and size.  I am so super pumped about this!! I get to see my baby one more time before he gets here!!! The other best part is that it falls on an off night for Dustin so he will be there too!

Let the nesting begin! After the shower on Sunday, I went to the funeral home for a former patient/friend of the family. When I got home, I started organizing and putting away gifts from the shower. I couldn't stop myself! I did it all that night. Then last night after dinner, I came home and re-arranged it all again. Tonight, after the dr's appointment, Mom came over and helped me do it all again! I knew that it would be very time consuming to open my gifts at the shower, so I asked my hostesses to do it for me and display them. I highly recommend this method if you are only having one large shower. I was able to socialize and love on everyone that was there to love on me. The girls did a great job of documenting who brought what. It has been so much fun to try to match who gave what before looking at the list. I'm pretty good at this game!

35 Weeks!

Where has the time gone?!?! It seems like just yesterday we were announcing the good news!

I've been in major nesting mode this weekend. Saturday, I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned... including floors. I'm still working on your rug so the living room is pretty messy. I have been having some of the craziest dreams this week too! The most recent... I was nursing babies (random babies) and my milk was the consistency of cheese whiz. Gross. I know... and that's the most appropriate one to share on here! That dream lasted for.ever.

I have been craving ice lately... in any form... including popsicles. The hospital has the best ice! Does ice cream count?? I've been craving that too, since the beginning. My weight is still pretty stable with a total gain of 2 lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight.

Your Aunt Rachel is going to teach me how to make your baby food when you are ready for it. I am very excited about this. I really want to limit artificial stuff in your diet for as long as I can! Hope you like it :)

Nesting...

OOOh I thought I was nesting before! HA HA HA.

Today (with the help of my parents), I made and hung living room curtains, put together a pack & play for the first time, organized stuff in your room 100 times, cleaned the shower head (I know this one sounds crazy but it had one really strong stream of water that would cut right through me every morning), started our bag for the hospital, laundry, and cleaned the kitchen.

I could still find 1000 more things to do but I am so tired.

Good News

I ate chicken twice in the last 24 hours and have not thrown up!!  Both meals were shredded very small so it might be a texture issue. Last night, we went to Granna's to eat her amazing chicken casserole, rice, green beans,  and corn. It was delicious!!! Today I was able to eat chicken salad from downtown deli and felt fine... full but fine! YAY!!!

21 Weeks!

Hi baby BOY! Your daddy and I are still flying high from our last doctor's appointment! We are so excited to be blessed with a little boy. I think our personalities are perfect to raise a boy!

Our newest purchase for you is this precious onesie:
Your daddy loves video games. In some of the games you get ranked as you go along. This onesie says that you are a Level One Human. Strength: 3, Intelligence: 6, Wisdom: 3, Dexterity: 3, Constitution: 4, Charisma: 18, Armor Class: 6, Hit Points: 2, Experience: 0. I personally think your Hit Points should be higher than 2 because you are moving like crazy!

We are also buying you a house on Thursday!!! Yes we will live there too but really from now on everything is for you right?

You are around the size of a banana this week and you are beginning to swallow!! I'm such a proud mama already :). You still won't let me eat chicken and that is VERY hard to do! It's been about 6 weeks since I could eat chicken without losing it. I'm not sure what it is about the chicken... it smells good, looks good and even tastes good but that first bite does it every single time. I'm still pretty tearful at small things and I can tell that I get easily aggravated. The emotions go away almost as quickly as they came.

17 Weeks!

I am in awe of what is to come in the next few months as I sit here with my best friend's 3 month old miracle. This week, baby bean is the size of an onion! We'll know in 2 weeks if our bean is a girl bean or a boy bean and I. can't. wait.

I am so excited that baby bean is learning to swallow, suck and blink this week. Those are really huge things in my profession! I am noticing a lot more growth in my belly size. I had to officially retire the scrubs for awhile this week. I won't be posting belly pics... actually I won't even be taking any belly pics for that matter. I have definitely decided that I want to be MUCH smaller before I get pregnant again (God and Dustin willing :). I have been pretty healthy through this pregnancy so far but I know it's still really early and my weight may become a problem.

As far as symptoms go... I still have some morning sickness but the all day nausea is gone (hooray). I've been a little tearful at the smallest things (commercials and movies) and really tearful at the big things (see Rachel's Randomness). I've have some joint pain... especially my hips and some other pains along with a crampy feeling every now and then that just lets me know baby bean is growing and so am I. Headaches and heartburn were pretty bad at the end of last week but better this week so far. Yesterday, I bought Tums, Tylenol, and belly lotion and felt very pregnant.

My friend Rachel saw this on a blog today and I'm so excited about it....

Sickness...

I was really worried about strep after several of my patients reported having it in the last week and a couple of family members too. Late Tuesday, I started feeling awful and sick and then got really freaked out so I called my OB and they fit me in at eight the next morning. Thankfully, their office is on campus at our hospital! The strep test was negative and I instantly felt better... weird. I got to hear baby bean's heartbeat again too... totally unexpected and what a great start to my day. So now it's Friday and my throat/nose/sinuses are feeling much better. I've had a lot more nausea and vomiting the past two weeks than I did during the whole first trimester. It's been a rough couple of weeks! Needless to say, my appetite isn't so great... I can only seem to finish half a meal at a time... I don't have time for twenty small meals a day!
