Lea Sparks (& Elijah) brought us dinner Monday night. Taco Bake... yum :). Lea and I talked for a long time about the hard parts of having a new baby. You are wonderful in every way but sometimes my hormones and emotions make me crazy. At that time, I was still trying to breastfeed and it was just not working. Mrs. Lea made me feel so much better about everything. She is a great friend who is always very honest and straightforward. We tried "tummy time" for a little bit and you did not like it one bit. The more upset you got, the more you moved your head and neck... so I let you get a little upset to strengthen your little bitty neck.
We took our first outing (besides the doctor's office) on Tuesday. I had cabin fever and couldn't stand it anymore... since I couldn't drive yet, Dede hauled us around town. You seemed to really enjoy being out and about too. First we stopped at The Alabama Gift Company to let Mama Kathy (David's Mimi) meet you. She was so excited to see us. Then we met my co-workers at The Courtyard for lunch. I was so happy we were seated far far away from the other tables. It amazes me how complete strangers will ask to touch you or hold you. You are just too precious and people lose all common sense when they look at you. After lunch, we stopped by Black Eyed Susies and then went home. I was exhausted and so were you. Our routine got all messed up and you did not want to sleep or eat. We spent Wednesday trying to recover from Tuesday. Tracie Keenan and Gidget Reid brought Chinese take-out for dinner on Wednesday. Delicious!
Thursday, we hit the road again. We were on a mission to find clothes for our photo shoot with Mrs. Lexie!!! I have been looking forward to these pictures since I found out I was pregnant. Lexie has taken all of our friend's pictures and they have been so amazing. She is very creative and a phenomenal photographer. We'll get the pictures back in a couple of weeks! After we were done with the pictures, we went to Granna and Poppy's house to see Poppy's brother and his family. They live in Ohio and we love it when they come to visit.
Friday was another day of recovering from the day before. Again, our routine was messed up and it took awhile to restart. After work on Friday, Aunt Rachel and David came to hang out. You slept mostly but David was still very interested in you. Our friend Christy Kendrick and her kids (Kailiegh & Hunter) brought dinner - Chicken Cordon Bleu, twice baked potato casserole, and broccoli salad... fabulous!
